Last week I was very lucky to attend the Excited 2015 event in the Printworks building of Dublin Castle, talking as a speaker on a panel relating to the use of Technology in Education. I had the pleasure of Joining three exciting individuals on stage to give input to the discussion of ED-Tech. Lara Dabbagh & Dr. Kathy Kipp of the Learnovate Centre presented a very polished and informative powerpoint which introduced the topic to the ~three-hundred plus crowd of excited educators.
Following the powerpoint I was joined on stage by Caroline Lane of the NCBI to discuss our own interests and varying backgrounds. I really appreciate the oppurtunity given to me by Ciaran Cannon TD, who I would like to congratulate for putting together such an enthusiastic event which ran so smoothly. There were many interesting speakers who put forward some very entriging ideas and gave great insight into their own uses of technology in their classrooms. It was also a great day to fly the flag (so to speak) for Interactive Arts! The Digital Youth Council were also a big headliner at the event and they deserve great credit, going into their second year of existence.
